01 The future of work in Europe

Automation technologies will have an important impact on the European labour market, but what exactly will this look like?  

A growing literature suggests that the next wave of automation technologies will have an important impact in Europe; however, little is known about the effects on employment. What types of jobs are most likely to disappear, change or be created? 

As part of this project, we will grow the evidence base with new data and better analysis, and shed light on the potential labour-market impacts through innovative forecasting. This will allow us to provide tools and analysis to inform future debates and policies about how to respond to automation.
